a viberatto

Acoustic-oriented, instrumental music, featuring vibraphone, cello, glockenspiel, accordion, piano, synthesizer, bass, guitar and more.

About a viberatto

A Viberatto was formed by Jimmy Goodman to compose acoustic musical compositions in a cinematic type style. In 2012, the project expanded and more members were added, which produced two more albums.

Additional players include Tony Levin, Garth Hudson, Jane Scarpantoni, Kol Marshall, Guthrie Lord, Ross Rice, Aaron Solberg, Chris Macchia, Nat Russell and Maja Berwald.

A Viberatto is about simplicity, beauty, real instruments, chamber music and setting moods.

A Viberatto is music that many find hard to classify. We call it “Acoustic Chamber Rock”; however it is not always just acoustic, not chamber like classical and not really rock. You decide.

…Not too long ago, musician, producer Jimmy Goodman fled New York City for the peaceful solitude of Stone Ridge, and that informs this delightful new work by his group A Viberatto, recorded at his very own Leopard Studios. His first release “Beautiful,” (an EP) was a small ensemble, this one is expanded to include some of the best musicians in the area; the legendary Garth Hudson and Tony Levin join in as well as the renowned Ross Rice on keyboards, and Jane Scarpantoni (cello).
